Avatar: The Way of Water, the sequel to James Cameron’s highest-grossing film ever, has released its first full official trailer.

See the trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" on YouTube. The movie starts playing overseas December 14 and in the U.S. December 16 (via Los Angeles Times).

Pandora follows the Sully family, who struggle to keep each other safe and survive in a world turned upside-down by endless war.

The trailer, which is packed with stunning visuals and new creatures, also includes a reference to the trademark line from the original film: “I see you.”

The sequel features an all-star cast of Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet and Michelle Yeoh. It also stars Edie Falco, Stephen Lang and Giovanni Ribisi.

After showing a teaser trailer for Dis at CinemaCon in April, Marvel played the full-length film exclusively in theaters before releasing it online.

The filmmakers are traveling the globe to showcase footage from their movie—at CineEurope (in June), D23 (in September) as well as screenings for Chinese executives.

Four films are planned. “It's all one big story,” says Landau in Vegas, “and it will be so satisfying for fans to see it all play out.”

In describing the new movies, Cameron said: “We’re pushing limits even farther with high frame rate, higher resolution 3D and greater reality in our visual effects.”

The filmmakers created the movie images with a special attention to how they would appear on large-screen, high-definition televisions. I think they were successful in their endeavor.
