Reddit downloader FAQ
Answers to the questions we get most often.
Why does my Reddit video have no sound?
Reddit keeps sound in a separate file. If the original post has sound, SocialMate offers a version with audio or the audio track separately.
Does it work with NSFW subreddits?
SocialMate is meant for general content. Some restricted posts cannot be downloaded.
Is SocialMate free?
Yes. SocialMate is free to use, with no account and no software to install. It works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac.
Where are my downloaded files saved?
On Android and computers files go to your Downloads folder. On iPhone and iPad, Safari saves them in the Files app under Downloads. From there you can save a video to Photos.
Does SocialMate keep a copy of my videos?
No. We do not store the videos you download. The download link we create expires automatically after a short time.
Can I download any video I find?
Please download only videos you created yourself or have permission to use. Respect creators and copyright. See our Copyright policy.
