How to Save Reddit Videos With Sound

Byadmin

Reddit videos are notorious for downloading without audio. The reason is technical: Reddit hosts video on its own v.redd.it service and keeps the sound in a separate track. Here is how to save Reddit videos properly.

Step 1: Copy the post link

On the post, tap Share and choose Copy link. Links from reddit.com, old.reddit.com and the short redd.it format work.

Step 2: Paste it into SocialMate

Open the Reddit downloader, paste the link and press Download.

Step 3: Pick a file with sound

SocialMate lists the available versions. Files without sound are marked No audio, so choose one without that tag for a normal video. The audio track is also offered separately.

Videos that are not hosted on Reddit

Many Reddit posts simply link to YouTube, Imgur, Streamable or another site. In that case, paste the link of the original video instead. SocialMate supports most of these sites too.

GIF posts

Reddit GIFs are usually stored as short MP4 videos without sound. That is normal.

Why a Reddit video may fail

  • The post was removed by moderators or deleted.
  • The subreddit is private or quarantined.
  • The link points to a comment rather than the post. Copy the link from the post itself.

Ready to try it? Open the Reddit downloader, paste your link and choose the quality you want.
